The hotel is named in honor of Catherine the Great who in 1794 issued the decree to found the town “the pearl near the sea” and named it Odessa.

Hotel “Ekaterina” is situated in the historic central part of Odessa at the local point of business activity and of the political and cultural life not far from the Black Seaside on one of the most beautiful streets – Ekaterininskaya corner Grecheskaya str 50m from the central street Deribasovskaya.

The most famous and exciting sightseeing are situated near the hotel: The Opera and Ballet Theatre, Primorskyy Bulvar with the famous Potemkinskaya leader and Seaport, the same as museums and the biggest shop centers which you can reach taking five minutes walk through old streets of the city or by taxi.

The building of the hotel is the monument of architecture; it was built in 1905 according to the project of famous architecture Ju.M. Dmitrenko for the rich house owner is Mavrokordato. On the face wall of the building is the longest balcony which has no equal in the world. The building was renovated in 2008 and at the same time all modern technical equipment was installed in the heart of old construction.
